Following our aim to keep away from the tourist hordes, we travel down to the beautiful Megalong Valley for lunch. Enjoy a hearty country-style meal in this tranquil location, looking up at the spectacular cliffs.
At lunchtime we travel down into the quiet peace and beauty of the Megalong Valley to enjoy our lunch in these country surrounds. With a population of just over 100 people, the Megalong Valley is a local farming community nestled beneath towering sandstone cliffs, and lush pockets of mountain rainforest. The valley gets its name from the aboriginal word meaning "valley below the cliffs" - a clue to the spectacular views you'll see from the valley floor.
At the Megalong Tearooms, lunch is included as part of your tour. Select from a diverse menu of hot or cold options, including soups, sandwiches, pies, ploughman's platters and more. There are plenty of vegetarian options, and other dietary needs can also be catered for. Your Guide will show you a menu in the morning, and you can select your choice so it's ready for you without delay upon our arrival. A soft drink, tea or coffee is also included.
The Megalong Tearooms is a great hidden find - family-owned and operated for over 50 years. A fabulous spot in any weather, the Tearooms have wonderful outdoor tables overlooking country paddocks and stunning views when the sun is shining, or cosy indoor seating and fires when the weather's a little chilly.
